Present Impermanence

I am the space
temporarily lived in

never settled down
but always stayed still.

I don’t think anyone here
was anything then
just a new man.

I don’t think who I am
ever had a new place
just a new view.

I am the years
temporarily lived in

never passing time
but always checking out.

I don’t want change
to consume your desire.

I don’t want a promise
of happily ever after.

All I really ask
of you
and all you really need
from me
is present impermanence
